Joe Proto’s career spans over 40 years at the intersection of financial technology, enterprise software, strategic investment, and corporate governance. Throughout he has founded, led, and advised multiple technology companies from startup through successful acquisition, establishing a reputation as a builder of enduring, market-leading businesses.

From 2022-2025 Proto served on Google Cloud’s Executive Advisory Board. His entrepreneurial ventures include Transactis, a leading digital billing and payments platform acquired by Mastercard in 2019 after scaling to serve many of the largest financial institutions in the United States. Earlier in his career, he founded REMITCO, which served over 100 of the top 500 corporations in the U.S. and was acquired by First Data. His first company that he co-founded, Financial Telesis, was subsequently acquired by what is now Wells Fargo.
