The IPS/ILS Japan Conference in Tokyo, a flagship event organized by EVA Aviation and TFD Global—an ASI company—with support from Phil Williams from Team Defence Information UK, Paul Cramers from ASD in Europe, and the British Embassy, has successfully concluded. The conference showcased the hard work and dedication of many, including Kuno-san from EVA Aviation/TFD Japan, Allan Goody, and Shoichi Sugiyama.
The event received an overwhelming positive support and encouragement from Phil Williams, Managing Director of UK Team Defence Information and Co-chair of the IPS Global Council, Phillipa Arter from TDI, and Paul Cramers of ASD, the European Aerospace & Defence trade body. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone involved in the Organizing Team for their relentless efforts.
The second day of the conference was particularly notable for the industry’s robust contribution, featuring insightful presentations from BAE SYSTEMS, Patria, ILIAS, CDS Defence & Security, Pennant International, PHM, and ASI. The day culminated in an extended Q&A and Networking Event, which spurred considerable discussion and debate among the participants.
A special highlight was a private session held for JMSDF personnel at Jujo Base, the HQ for the 3 JSDF Material Commands. This session was designed to offer further briefings and Q&A sessions, especially aimed at educating the next generation of officers about ILS.
The conference was marked by a high turnout, energetic discussions, and a palpable enthusiasm to learn about ILS/IPS, PBL, and the S-Series. Given the success and the thirst for knowledge in Japan, the organizers are planning another event later this year to coincide with the Japan Aerospace Expo in October. It promises to be another exciting opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome new members to the growing community.
